As the sun sets over the city, a hidden Toronto gem takes the stage. OBJX Studio is known by artists for its limitless film & photography opportunities, but it is also a haven for all artists alike; transforming into a vibrant hub of artistic expression every Sunday evening.
Hosted tonight with Katrina Anastasia and Branko; Sunday Sessions is a home to performers who can expand their artistry through performance and jamming.
Sign-up begins at 7pm and we keep grooving until midnight.
This July 30th, as the clock strikes the appointed hour, a mere $10 cover opens the gateway to an evening of musical enchantment and soulful performances.

With an artist's eye and a heart full of passion, Diego Chazi, the talented photographer, makes his mark at Sunday Sessions, freezing moments and emotions in time. Inspired by a recent encounter at a studio, Diego's love for photography reignited, propelling him to seize the opportunity and showcase his talent once more. As he captures candid shots of the performers and audience alike, Diego finds joy in knowing that he brings happiness to others through his art. On the journey to the stage, Diego confronts the existential threat of unfulfillment and chooses fearlessly to pursue his passion, knowing that photography is his true calling. Reflecting on his childhood dreams, Diego Chazi longed to be a photographer, driven by the desire to help the community and capture the essence of happiness through visual storytelling.

FIRST SET
DEMARIS @soramaverick77
Opening the show with two mesmerizing covers by Demi Lovato – "Only Forever" and "Ruin the Friendship" – Demaris's soulful voice instantly captivates the audience. Her dedication to perfection shines through as she shares how she prepared for the night, her fingers a testament to the hours spent honing into her guitar skills.
Starting with our question of the week - "How have you overcome doubt in the past?" – Demaris reflects on her journey. She reveals that the pivotal moment of conquering doubt came when she found the freedom to “move to Toronto and perform”.

Called to the stage, Claire follows Demaris. Before revealing their original composition, Claire confides in the audience that she hadn't planned to perform at all. Her voice, in need of rest, was supposed to take a break. Yet, the pull of creative expression was too strong to resist, and with an impromptu decision, they graced the stage to share her heartfelt creation.
When asked about her artistic influences, Claire humbly credits the musicians around them for being her greatest source of inspiration. Their creative works serve as a wellspring of ideas and drive, constantly pushing her to explore new territories and expand her own artistic boundaries. It is through jamming and creating with these valued creatives that she finds the true essence of her artistry.

PARSA @parsa_nejati_2004
Next up, Parsa follows Claire onto the stage with an air of timeless elegance. The audience leans in, eager to be enchanted by his velvety voice as he presents two classic covers: "Moon River" by Frank Sinatra and "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" by Tony Bennett.
When asked about how he prepared for his performance, Parsa reveals his no-frills approach. With a refreshing honesty, he shares that he doesn't indulge in elaborate rituals but rather takes a moment to hydrate with water and center himself with deep breaths. His easy-going demeanor and trust in his craft create an atmosphere of genuine connection with the audience.
Tonight’s question unfolded that Parsa's journey is a tale of personal triumph over doubt and adversity. His move to Canada marked a turning point in his life, empowering him to embrace his potential and achieve both artistic and personal milestones. Through perseverance and dedication, he found his voice not only in music but in his own life's narrative.

As the lights dim at OBJX Studio, the audience eagerly awaits the enchanting presence of Faylee. With her guitar in hand, she takes the stage, ready to share her soulful melodies. Tonight, Faylee treats the audience to a captivating original song titled "Siren Heart" and a heartfelt cover of Bob Dylan's "Mr. Tambourine Man." Her preparations, rehearsing in the intimate space of her bedroom, set the stage for an evening of genuine connection through music.
When asked about the artists who have left an indelible mark on her work, Faylee names Taylor Swift, Bob Dylan, and Joni Mitchell as profound influences. She recognizes their unparalleled ability to make people feel understood through their lyrical prowess. Faylee draws inspiration from their artistry, seeking to create a similar emotional connection with her own music.
In response to the question of the day – "How have you overcome doubt in the past?" – Faylee reflects on her journey through high school. Entering this new phase of life, she harbored doubts about whether she would find genuine connections with good people. However, to her delight, those fears were soon conquered as she discovered a community that embraced and understood her.

DITTO @d.itto
Ditto played/performed two originals entitled “One” and “Look Down”. He prepared for his performance by saying "I technically didn't." When asked "What artist do you feel most influences your work and why?" He said "Jarle Bernohft and Nai Palm. Their songwriting and unapologetic innate charisma are direct inspirations for how I want to express my artistry." Our question of the day was "How have you overcome doubt in the past?" to which [artist] said "When I decided to take a risk and apply at a venue to be a sound technician. I didn’t have any formal education, I just learned from mentors and chance encounters and being thrown in the ire at gigs”.
A beloved OBJX comrade, Ditto presents two original compositions titled "One" and "Look Down." In our interview, he reveals that he technically didn't prepare for the performance. However, the audience is soon to be mesmerized by his unapologetic artistry. This unconventional approach highlights his innate talent and ability to create magic in the moment.
When asked about the artists who have profoundly influenced his work, Ditto holds Jarle Bernhoft and Nai Palm in high regard. Following soon after, Diego covers "The Bug Collector" by Hailey Heynderickx, ready to share his rendition of the heartfelt song. Diego's preparation is a testament to his dedication, having played the song countless times. When asked about his artistic influences, he humbly acknowledges the impact of every artist and song he has encountered.
In response to the question of the day – "How have you overcome doubt in the past?" – Diego reflects on his journey of self-discovery. Being largely self-taught, he often doubted his own skills and abilities as an artist. However, his perseverance and dedication have led to a turning point. With the recognition he now receives for his art, he experiences a sense of validation and fulfillment. This newfound recognition helps him overcome past doubts and embrace his true potential.
Beyond his captivating musical talent, Diego is also a skilled photographer, capturing the essence of the evening through his lens. Tonight, as the audience revels in the soul-stirring performances, they can credit Diego for the stunning photos that will forever immortalize this memorable night.

Tonight, a musical virtuoso and spiritual guide, Branko, blessed us with his presence to lead the audience on a journey of musical transcendence and meditation. Renowned for his innovative jams and transformative guided meditations, Branko promises an evening that blends the realms of music and spirituality, leaving the audience spellbound and tranquil.

SECOND SET
KATRINA ANASTASIA @katrina.anastasia
Katrina played/performed “Crazy” by Gnarls Barkley and her original “TMWYL”. She prepared for her performance by "I didn't do anything to prepare. I didn't even know what I was going to play before I got on stage". When asked "What artist do you feel most influences your work and why?" [PN] said "There're so many. I would say Rihanna, because hits every genre and she's a bad bitch." Our question of the day was "How have you overcome doubt in the past?" to which [artist] said "Overcoming doubt is realizing it doesn’t matter if you have mentors, support, or resources; you’re the driving force to action”.
After a brief ecstatically charged jam intermission, the air at OBJX Studio crackles with excitement as the host, Katrina Anastasia, steps onto the stage. Tonight, she treats the audience to two captivating performances - "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley and her original composition "TMWYL" (Tell Me What You Like). Her preparation process, or lack thereof, is a testament to her fearless approach to artistic expression. As the host, Katrina's insights into her influences and her personal journey of overcoming doubt add a profound dimension to the evening.
When asked about the artists who most influence her work, Katrina's response echoes the eclectic nature of her performances. She mentions Rihanna as a significant influence, admiring her ability to effortlessly master various genres while maintaining her fierce bad-bitchery.
When doubt creeps in, it is natural to seek external validation or support. However, Katrina gleans that "Overcoming doubt is realizing it doesn’t matter if you have mentors, support, or resources; you’re the driving force to action”. By recognizing her potential and trusting in her talents, Kat is able to transcend doubt and find the motivation to act upon their artistic vision.

Deap performed his originals ”Outside” and “Next Stop; Colorful Static”. He prepared for his performance by "I rehearsed for three days straight at night before bed". When asked "What artist do you feel most influences your work and why?" he said "Kanye because I feel like he's the best musician of all time. Goated producer, rapper. MF DOOM because his wordplay rhyme schemes and rapping ability feels out of reach and unmatched to other rappers - my goal is to get there." Our question of the day was "How have you overcome doubt in the past?" to which Deap said "In 2020 I used to make music in a group with a band. When we disbanded, I was afraid I'd never write again. But freestyling one time on a long drive- I inspired myself. I've been writing ever since ”.
The energy at OBJX Studio reaches new heights as Deap takes the stage, ready to share his original compositions "Outside" and "Next Stop; Colorful Static." Behind the scenes, his preparation is a testament to his dedication, rehearsing tirelessly for three consecutive days. When asked about his artistic influences, Deap points to two iconic figures - Kanye West and MF DOOM. Their brilliance serves as a driving force for his own aspirations.

Our last feature of the night was Vivian who, having only recently found their raw voice and power, shares a heartfelt rendition of "I See Red" and an original composition titled "Tip-Toeing around you." When asked about their artistic influences, they pay tribute to Kristen Cruz, the catalyst for their own singing journey, and Diana Ankudinova, whose music has opened new horizons for their vocal exploration.
Vivian reveals that their preparation is rooted in the essence of music itself - singing every day. This daily ritual becomes the foundation of their artistry, fine-tuning their voice and nurturing their passion for music.
Vivian's story of conquering doubt becomes an empowering triumph for the audience. It serves as a reminder that taking that first step, facing our fears, and sharing our talents can lead to transformative experiences and new heights of artistic expression.

As the night at OBJX Studio nears its end, a spontaneous and electrifying jam session ignites on the stage. Branko, Katrina, Adam, Bonk and more band together, their instruments in hand, ready to create music that transcends boundaries. The atmosphere is charged with excitement as the audience watches, witnessing these talented artists fuse their skills in a harmonious symphony of sound.
Just when the energy reaches its peak, a familiar figure graces the stage, making this night evermore special. Cole, the legend, a name that holds a special place in the hearts of all who have witnessed the magic of OBJX Studio in the past. With Cole's return, the night becomes even more extraordinary, as he effortlessly joins the jam with his own unique rendition of “Good Days” by Mac Miller.
With the jam session concluded, the artists share heartfelt hugs and smiles, grateful for the opportunity to share their artistry with each other in such a cherished space. As the audience begins to disperse, they carry with them the memory of this magical night.
As the studio lights dim and we re-stage our space, the spirit of creativity and camaraderie remain. Until the next gathering, the legend of OBJX Studio lives on, a place where music, passion, and friendship converge, leaving an everlasting impact on all who step through its doors.
